City Square is located in middle of Yingkou Road, uptown area in shanghai. Close to park, metro entrance and retail, it is ideal community public gathering place in Yangpu District. For the commercial purpose, the main functions of this building are dinning, cafe, entertainment and retail.

The concept of design is to integrate buildings based on the current landscape, to form “floating space”. Building volume is tried to stimulate natural landscape through organic form. And the main element of design is public space. Two squares are enclosed and formed by buildings, one is towards city, and the other has stronger connection with parks. Two squares are connected with a commercial street. The people stream will be led to this area once getting out of metro entrance. The place where people stop their paces will become the gathering place of this region.
