UrbanDATA CPD program begins

Urbandata has now started a CPD program (continuing professional development program). We will be holding weekly meetings to exchange ideas based around a chosen topic, allowing us to reflect more on the past, present and future aspects of our profession. The program gives a platform to our employees to develop themselves and keep the office moving forward in a positive direction. Three meetings have already been held, each with a different topic.

The first topic was ‘What is real architecture?’ We discussed reasons why Zaha Hadid’s design for Cardiff Bay Opera House in the UK failed to be realized in 1994, while her more recent design for an opera house in Guangzhou has been realized.

Our second discussion covered eco cities and sustainable development. We discussed the problems that have arisen in ecological developments such as Masdar City and Qingdao Eco Block, giving our own opinions about the definition of an eco city.

The third topic was the importance of workflow. Everyone shared their ideas about how our office can work more efficiently.
