Recently, Qi Xianhui, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of Huangpu District, Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Party Secretary and Chairperson of the District Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, led a delegation comprising part-time vice chairpersons and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to Qingdao, Shandong Province. The purpose of the visit was to study and research the construction of smart urban districts and explore new approaches for engaging overseas Chinese communities.

Shan Wenhui, CPPCC member of Huangpu District and Executive Director of urbanDATA, provided an overview of the Qingdao Liyuan Historical and Cultural Smart Block Project. She highlighted how sensor technologies in smart facilities, coupled with advanced communication networks based on fiber optics and 5G wireless technology, have created ideal conditions for the widespread adoption of smart blocks. Intelligent lampposts displaying real-time urban weather, traffic updates, and public facility information exemplify how technology is enhancing convenience and efficiency, reshaping lifestyles for residents and visitors alike.
